Often, but not always. A jersey is sized by chest like a T-shirt, but it is usually a little longer and cut for movement. Compare your chest measurement with the jersey chart (S 36, M 38, L 40, XL 42 inches) instead of copying your T-shirt letter.
Most people know their T-shirt size, so it is natural to order a jersey in the same letter. It usually works, and when it does not, the reason is almost always one of three things.
1. Brands cut chests differently
A casual brand’s L can be anything from 39 to 42 inches. Our L is 40. Two “L” shirts can be two sizes apart, which is why the chest number is the safer guide.
2. Jerseys are longer
Our jerseys run from 27 inches long at XS to 33 inches at 4XL, measured from the top of the shoulder. That is longer than many casual tees, so the jersey stays tucked or covers the waistband when you stretch.
3. Oversized fashion tees
Searches for oversized T-shirt sizes have grown fast. If your everyday T-shirts are oversized, your letter size is probably one or two sizes bigger than your real chest. Measure before you order a jersey.

Lay your favourite T-shirt flat, measure across the chest from armpit to armpit and double it. Then find that number in the chart below.
